St. Charles Festival Queen, Teen Queen to be crowned Saturday

DESTREHAN – Nicole Troxclair, the 1998 St. Charles Parish Festival Queen, willrelinquish her title July 31 at Destrehan High School auditorium. The pageant isset for 7 p.m.Troxclair has spent the last year traveling to different festivals presenting the area. One of the highlights of her reign was representing St. Charles Parish atthe Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens Pageant in Baton Rouge.

Troxclair is the 20-year-old daughter of Joan and Ronnie Troxclair of Norco. Shewill be a junior at LSU in the fall and is majoring in psychology. She is amember and the historian of Phi Sigma Pi, an honors fraternity.

Jennie Aubert, daughter of Peter and Julia Aubert, is the St. Charles Parish TeenQueen. She is 17 years old and lives in Luling. She will be a senior at HahnvilleHigh School in the fall.

Aubert is on the Hi-Steppers dance team and is an All-American for NCA Dance.

She will serve as the president for the Student Council and vice-president of the National Honor Society.

The pageant is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Red Church Council 3634 and the St. Charles Community Education Program. Scholarships will be awardedto the queen and her court. Also, the senior queen and maids selected in thepageant will go on to compete in area festivals, including the Louisiana Sugar Festival, the Louisiana Cattle Festival, the Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Festival, the Louisiana Cotton Festival and the Louisiana Rice Festival.
