AVRIL METAIRIE – Joffre Gabriel Avril, 82, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Metairie, died July 26. He was the husband of Mary Logarbo Avril andfather of Josie Ramsey and Robert, Tommy Sr. and James Avril.He was also the son of the late Jean Marie and Ernestine Avril and brother of Victorine Bailey.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home,Metairie, with interment at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery. Visitation starts at9:30 a.m.CLARK GARYVILLE – Gregory “Wheel” Clark Sr., 45, a native and resident ofGaryville, died July 23. He was the husband of Deborah Pidgeon Clark andfather of Gregory Jr. and Brandon Clark.He was also the son of Earl Clark Sr. and the late Annie Penn Clark andbrother of Earl Jr., Edward, Wilfred, Johnny, Barry and Rosalie Clark.He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at True Light Baptist Church, Garyville, withinterment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.DUHE METAIRIE – Richard J. “Rickey” Duhe Sr., 71, a native of Lutcher and aresident of Metairie for 42 years, died July 23. He was the husband ofJosie P. Duhe and father of Kathleen Boddenheimer and Richard Jr.,Timothy, Kenneth and Glen Duhe.

He was also the brother of Isabelle Kluchin and Julius “Cotton,” Calvin, Brenda and Bruce Duhe and the late Inez Betpouey, Bertha Bourgeois and Gaston Duhe Jr.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held July 26 in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

NORMAND DESTREHAN – Gale Silvestri Normand, 54, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Norco, died July 24. She was the wife of the late ArthurNormand Sr. and mother of Arthur Normand Jr.She was also the daughter of Gasper Silvestri and the late Angelina Lopez Silvestri and is survived by 11 brothers and sisters. She was preceded indeath by one.

Services were held July 27 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.

ROBBINS METAIRIE – Erin Lee Robbins, 34, a native of Garyville and a resident of Metairie for two years, died July 17. She was the wife of John Robbins andmother of Brandi Lee Robbins.

She was also the daughter of Clark Hoffman and sister of Shawn and Michael Hoffman.

Private services were held.

STERLING LAPLACE – The Rev. Robert “Bill” Sterling, 79, a resident of LaPlace formany years, died July 21. He was the husband of Rosalie Stirgus Sterlingand father of Morris Hubbard.

He was also the son of the late Edward Sr. and Stella Mitchell Sterling andbrother of Victoria Carter and the late Edna S. Joseph, Viola Brown andFelton and Edward Sterling Jr.

Services were held July 26 at Rising Star Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment at Providence Rest Haven cemetery.

VOIRON NORCO – Joseph P. Voiron Jr., 45, a resident of St. Rose, died July 24. Hewas the husband of the late Loretta McDaniel, father of Joseph III, Jody and Wendy Voiron and step-father of Melissa and Cecile McDaniel.

He was also the brother of David, Albert and William Voiron.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services are today at 6 p.m. in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home,Norco, with interment at Gateline Cemetery, Baptist. Visitation starts at3 p.m.WOODIE METAIRIE – Gertrude Bourgeois Woodie, 87, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Metairie for 25 years, died July 21. She was the wife of thelate Walter R. Woodie Sr. and mother of Cheryl and Walter Woodie Jr.She was also the sister of Ida Bourgeois, Lucille Chevalley and Nelva Estopinal.

Services were held July 26 in the chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Metairie Cemetery.
