CONKEY WESTWEGOAdam William Conkey, 13, a native and resident of Luling, died July 2. He was the son of Raymond and Julie Munch Conkey and brotherof Matthew and Alex Conkey.

He was also the grandson of Bill and Janie Munch and Guy and Marcy Conkey and great-grandson of Winnie Munch.

The J.B. Martin Middle School student died from injuries sustained in afour-wheeler accident.

Services were held July 6 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum, Westwego.

GUARINO LAPLACERussell P. “Baby” Guarino, 80, a native of Marrero and aresident of LaPlace for 47 years, died July 2. He was the husband ofJosephine Cali Guarino and father of Nancy Paine and Annrose and Peterjack Guarino.

He was also the son of the late Peter and Nancy Blanda Guarino and brother of Lena Murphy, Lucy Caramonta, Phillip and Peter Guarino, the late Mary Landwehr, Rosie Aubert, Genevieve Dantin and Anna Mae Belas.

He is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were held July 4 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

HOTARD RESERVESophie Schexnayder Stein Hotard, 76, a native of Paulina and a resident of Reserve for 70 years, died July 5. She was the wife by firstmarriage of the late Justin Stein and by second marriage of the late Albert “Sheik” Hotard and mother of Joyce Cashio, Janet Banos and Jimmy, John and Jerry Stein.

She was also the daughter of the late Ferducie and Lelia Schexnayder and sister of Theresa Tanguis, Lelia Kelly, Eleanor Hofmann, Alma Martin, Joseph Schexnayder and the late Marie Schexnayder.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services are July 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 5 to 10 p.m.and tomorrow starting at 9 a.m.

JOHNSON HAHNVILLEIda Rice Johnson, 80, a resident of Hahnville, died June 28.

She was the wife of the late Herman Johnson.

She was also the daughter of the late Tony and Azelia Bartholomew Rice and sister of Mary Henry, Theresa Rice and the late Margaret Humphrey and Hilda James.

Services were held July 5 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft.

LLOYD HARVEYAgnes Marie Klibert Lloyd, 77, a native of Reserve and a resident of Gretna for 50 years, died July 3. She was the wife of the late LeonardLloyd Jr.

She was also the daughter of the the late Theogene and Leoncia Klibert and sister of Vivian Clouatre, Simone Fricke, Norman Klibert and the late Hewitt, Carl and Adrian Klibert.

Services were held July 5 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey, with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

MARINO NORCOJohn J. “Johnny” Marino Sr., 73, a native and resident of Norco,died July 4. He was the husband of Gloria Cambre Marino and father ofDawn Kelmell and Philip, Johnny Jr., Melody and Lance Marino.He was also the son of the late Joseph and Gaetana Marino and brother of Anthony Marino and the late Philip and Joseph Marino.

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

He was sheriff of St. Charles Parish from 1984 to 1996.Services are today at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church,Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery.Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

MOTT LAPLACELeona K. Mott, 55, a native and resident of LaPlace, died June28. She was the wife of Albert Mott and mother of Kerion and Keir Kelly.She was also the daughter of the late Henrietta Green and sister of Raymond Mason, Edward Green and the late Deloris Smith and Charles and Melvin Batiste.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Rising Star Baptist Church, LaPlace, withinterment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace. Visitation starts at10 a.m.

SMALL GARYVILLERoseline Small, 55, a native of Canton, Miss., and a residentof LaPlace, died July 3. She was the wife of Mack Small and mother ofJanice Gauthier, Bobby Patterson, Pamela Gray and Mack Small Jr.

She was also the daughter of Louvenia Sims and the late Standford Sims and sister of Mary Henderson, Ida Waterford, Ruth Mae Dunomes, Sylvester, Cleophus, Fred and Earnestine Sims and the late Annie Lee Brown and Eddie Sims.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church No. 1, Garyville,with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 10a.m.

WILLIAMS NEW ORLEANSJanice Ducree Williams, 50, a native of New Orleans and a resident of St. Rose for 14 years, died June 30. She was the mother ofChristopher M. Thomas.She was also the sister of Janet Anthony, Brenda Price, Linda Lee, Edward Curtis and Dennis Ducree.

Services were held July 3 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, NewOrleans, with interment at Bayou Lacomb Cemetery.
