Reserve man on bike hit, killed

RESERVE – Police are still looking for a vehicle which struck and killed a Reserve man early Saturday as he rode his bicycle along Airline Highway.
Sedric Chopin, 23, 525 Homewood Place, was riding a bicycle northbound on Airline at 2:50 a.m. when, according to State Police Trooper RyanMidkiff’s report, Chopin was struck by a vehicle.
A short time later, Midkiff continued, Chopin was struck by a black 1995 Lexus 300, driven by Courtney A. Allen, 23, 280 South Mulberry St.,Gramercy.
Allen flagged down a passing St. John Parish deputy for assistance, andChopin was pronounced dead at 4:04 a.m. at River Parish Hospital. It wasnot known which vehicle’s impact actually killed Chopin.
