Dufrene took the lead coming out of the transition area beforeSmith regained it before the one-mile turnaround point of the second two miles. I knew he (Dufrene) was good on the bike so I wanted to staywith him because I knew I was the stronger runner.”The race was held along old U.S. 51 with the transition area at theCajunland Swamp Tours. Competitors went out one mile before comingback. They then biked five miles out before turning around and repeatingthe run.
