ACOSTA LAPLACELuciana T. Acosta, 95, a native and resident of LaPlace, diedJune 3. She was the wife of the late Joseph Acosta and mother of ElaineBrignac, Lola Griffin, Bessie Grady, Lawrence and Edwin Acosta and the late Ronald and Leroy Acosta.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held June 5 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
BAZILE RESERVEAdele Fiffie Bazile, 74, a native of Montz and a resident of LaPlace, died May 31. She was the wife of John Bazile and mother ofDianne Goines, Cherlyn Dede and Brenda, Joseph, Randolph and Patrick Bazile.
She was also the sister of Hilda Rhodes.
She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 5 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
BEARD KENNERMichael Ray Beard, 49, a native of Bogalusa, a former resident of Franklinton and a resident of Destrehan for 30 years, died June 3. He wasthe father of Lela Michon Beard.
He was also the son of Gracie Walker Beard and the late Malcus Beard and brother of Mildred Brewer, Christine Nelson, Nell Brown, Geraldine Mizell, Susan Doherty, Mitchell, Jerry and Larry Beard and the late Bobby Beard.
He is also survived by one grandchild.
Services were held June 6 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son FuneralHome, Kenner, with interment at Beard Cemetery, Franklinton.
DAVIS GARYVILLEEula Mae Perkins Davis, 76, a native of Houma and a resident of Garyville for many years, died June 2. She was the wife of the lateJulius Davis Sr. and mother of Betty Jackson, Loretta Douglas, AnnetteGoff, Carolyn Carter, Rosalie Washington, Joyce Joseph and Williams and Julius Davis Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late Berk Perkins Sr. and Elvira Alexander and sister of Annie Belle Simmons, Gladys Edwards, Sadie Jones, Nathaniel Griffin and Joseph and Berk Perkins Jr.
She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 7 in the chapel of Hobson-Brown Funeral Home, Garyville, with interment at Woodlawn Plantation, Houma.
DOMIO NEW ORLEANSMelba Morton Domio, 87, a native of Vacherie and a resident of New Orleans for many years, died June 3. She was the wife ofthe late Lawrence Domio Sr. and mother of the late Eva Miller and Rolandand Lawrence Domio Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late Willie and Felicie Morton and sister of the late Vera Landry, Myrtle Jenkins and Matthew, Alvin and Goldma Morton.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 7 in the chapel of D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, NewOrleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.
DUPRE PAULINADorothy Anderson Dupre, 72, a native and resident of Lutcher, died June 6. She was the wife of the late Tillen Dupre and mother of Cheryl Barton and Jennifer Swan.
She was also the daughter of the late Charlie Anderson Sr. and Alice Berryhill Anderson Branch and sister of Martha Ray, Emelda Branch, Edwina Belvin, Carolyn Graves, Marion Scott, the Rev. Dale Branch Sr.,Charlie Anderson Jr. and the late Alma Parquette, James Anderson Sr. and Eugene Branch.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.
FLEMING RESERVEFelton “Slim” Fleming, 40, a native and resident of Garyville, died June 4. He was the husband of Patricia Taylor Fleming and father ofQuiana and Jeremiah Fleming and Orlando Sanders.
He was also the son of Ernest and Valentine Fleming and brother of Dora Robinson, Ora Mae Craighead, Rita Mae Miles, Beatrice, Dianne, Irvin, Ernest Jr., Donald Paul, Eliza and Rudolph Fleming and the late Donna Marce, Al Sherman and Ellard Fleming.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, Reserve,with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
GRANIER LAPLACEAnn Walton Granier, 45, a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace for 21 years, died June 7. She was the wife of Frank Granierand mother of Mark Granier.
She was also the daughter of Julia Walton and the late Dr. Charles H.Walton and sister of Charles Walton.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John MemorialGardens, LaPlace.
JOSEPH MARREROCorine Bailey Joseph, 82, a native of Edgard and a resident of Jefferson Parish for 54 years, died June 4. She was the wife of the lateMonroe Joseph and mother of Grace Johnson and Helen Phillips.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Services were held June 8 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church,Marrero, with interment at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Edgard.
NARCISSE EDGARDEmile “Peanut” Narcisse, 60, a native and resident of Edgard, died June 1. He was the son of the late Cuzey Narcisse and VictoriaBatiste Johnson and brother of Andrew Johnson.
Services were held June 7 at Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church,Edgard, with interment at Young Cemetery, Edgard.
SCOTT MARREROBetty L. Scott, 51, a native of Ponchatoula and a resident ofLuling, died June 4. She was the wife of Jessie Scott and mother of Mark Scott.
She was also the daughter of the late Jack and Ada Meades and sister of Doris Menteleone, Jerry, John, Robert and Mattie Meades and the late Joyce Madere and Leon and Donald Meades.
Services were held June 7 in the chapel of Westside Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling.
YOUNG ST. JAMESVidelia Augusta Young, 76, a native of St. James and aresident of East Palo Alto, Calif., died May 29. She was the wife of EddieYoung Jr. and mother of Roosevelt Kent, Jacquelyn Booker, Daisy Palmer,Evelyn Marshall and Cynthia Young.
She was also the daughter of the late Rev. Alcee and Louisa Johnson Dennisand sister of Barbara Miller and the late Rozella Ambrose.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.
