BARBAY AMACyril J. “Bull” Barbay, 70, a native and resident of Ama, died May21. He was the husband of Gloria Reovert Barbay and father of DawnReeves and Troy Barbay.

He was also the son of the late Herbert J. and Louise Barbay and brother ofthe late Sybil Theard.

He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Services were held May 25 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ama, withinterment at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft.

CAZENAVE VACHERIERoland J. “Bud” Cazenave Sr., 85, a native of Wallace and aresident of Vacherie, died May 23. He was the husband of the late StellaWebre Cazenave and father of Phylis Arcement, Sandra Graugnard, Carolyn Potter and R.J. Jr., Jimmy and Michael Cazenave.He was also the son of the late Etienne and Elina Cazenave and brother of Juliette Waguespack, Louise Champagne, Laurence Tregre, E.V. Cazenave Jr.and the late Marie Chabaud.

He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 25 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum.

COLAS EDGARDMaria “Coco” LeGeaux Colas, 83, a native and resident of Lucy, died May 22. She was the wife of the late Joseph B. Colas and mother ofJoyce Bernal, Gloria Marrero, Lynette Johnson, Ricardo Sr. and KennethColas Sr. and Ronald, Anthony Sr., Ronald and Charles Barre Sr.She was also the daughter of the late Ida Barre and Charles LeGeaux Sr. and sister of Raymond and Charles LeGeaux and the late Laura Schexnayder and Mina and Noah LeGeaux. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 38great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8:30a.m.GENTELIE NORCOAngela Gentelie, 30, a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace, died May 18. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and MargieGentelie and sister of Anna Cooper, Peter Ferguson and Joy and Eugene Gentelie Jr.

She is also the granddaughter of Anna Gardner.

Services were held May 22 at First Baptist Church, Norco, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans.

JACKSON ST. ROSERosemary Taylor Jackson, 67, a native and resident of St. Rose,died May 18. She was the wife of Lawrence Jackson and mother ofCharlene Jackson.

She was also the daughter of the late Victor and Albertha Lawrence Taylor and sister of the late Idell Eugene.

Services were held May 22 at Fifth African Baptist Church, St. Rose, withinterment at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, St. Rose.MARCELLA METAIRIEMary Ann Marcella, 90, a native of St. Rose and a resident ofJefferson for 40 years, died May 23. She was the daughter of the late Marcand Antoinette Bobi Marcella and sister of Clara Cook, Marie Barnewold, Madeline, Frank and Michael Marcella and the late Jack and Anthony Marcella.

Services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son FuneralHome, Metairie, with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation starts at 9 a.m.OUBRE ST. JAMESHilda Mary Oubre, 82, a native of Lucy and a resident ofVacherie, died May 23. She was the wife by first marriage of the lateRobert Brown and by second marriage of the late Clovis Jean Oubre, and the mother of Robert Brown, Brenda Comeaux, Verna LeDoux, Claudette Cannon and Oscar Oubre.

She was also the daughter of the late Iona Borne Duplessis.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, St. James,with interment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, South Vacherie. Visitationstarts at 8 a.m.PENA MARREROBenny Pena, 85, a native of the Philipines and a resident of Luling for two years, died May 19. He was the husband of Lillian FowlerPena, father of Amalie “Amy” Dardar, Nancy Varner, Rebecca Ellers and Bernard and Steven Pena and step-father of Mercedes Truxillo and Walter Hayes Jr.

He was also the brother of Felice, Maria, Florencia, Carmen and Jose Berena.

He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 22 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at St. Piux X Mausoleum.RINER METAIRIEMichael Ray Riner, 70, a native of Alice, Texas, and a resident of Destrehan, died May 21. He was the husband of Ruth Williams Riner,father of Michael Jr., Robert, Steven and Wade Riner and step-father ofSteven Boutwell.

He was also the son of the late Victor and Sylvia Ray Riner.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Services wre held May 24 in the chapel of Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Alice Cemetery, Alice, Texas.

RODI METAIRIEDorothy Kevlin Rodi, 86, a native of New Orleans, former resident of Gramercy and resident of Marrero, died May 20. She was thewife of the late William Rodi and mother of Mary Sullivan, Dorothy Kightlinger and Msgr. Thomas Rodi.She was also the sister of the late Dominic Kevlin.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were held May 24 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Metairie,with interment at St. Patrick Cemetey No. 2STOUT NEW ORLEANSDorothy Laque Stout, 91, a native of Boutte and a resident of Chalmette, died May 20. She was the wife of the late John W. Stout Sr.and mother of Dorothy Orth, Donald Sr. and John Stout Jr.She was also the daughter of the late Fredrick and Mary Wise Laque and sister of the late Vernon Laque.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 22 in the chapel of All Faiths Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.

WEATHERSPOON NEW ORLEANSEmily Melancon Weatherspoon, 71, a native of Vacherie and and a resident of New Orleans for 51 years, died May 19. She was the wifeof Fletcher Weatherspoon and mother of Maxine Wade, Barry and Patrick Weatherspoon and the late Reginald Weatherspoon.

She was also the daughter of the late Alexander Sr. and Lorenza StipeMelancon and sister of Virginia William, Eva Mae Hall, Lorenza Favorite Ferdinand, Joseph and Henry Melancon and the late Rita Carter and Alexander Melancon Jr.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held May 24 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church,New Orleans, with interment at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
