HALL LAPLACEDavid W. Hall, 42, a native of Clarksdale, Miss., and a residentof LaPlace for 31 years, died May 14. He was the father of Dianna andJonathan Hall.

He was also the son of Maude J. Hall and brother of Glenda Solomon, KarenMartinez and William and Michael Hall.

He was an employee of Cargill for 22 years.

Services were held May 17 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home.

HAYDEL HAHNVILLE Nora Robert Haydel, 85, a native of Ama, former resident of Hahnville and resident of Destrehan, died May 14. She was the wife of thelate Edwin “Khaki” Haydel and mother of Cynthia Clayton and Sheldon, Herman, Irving and Dana Haydel.

She was also the daughter of the late Oneisphore and Marie Champagne Robert and sister of Florence Huertin, Edith Sauviac and the late Ella Granier and Leila, Lucien and Richard Robert.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Services were held May 17 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft.

HUMPHREYS RESERVECatherine Olivia Humphreys, 93, a native of Donaldsonville and a resident of LaPlace, died May 9. She was the wife of the late Bernard H. Humphrey and mother of Joan Marie George.

She was also the daughter of the late Louis S. and Cora Bradley Turner. She is also survived by two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 18 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, Donaldsonville.

HYMEL VACHERIEHenry Joseph Hymel, 71, a native of Wallace and a resident of Vacherie, died May 17. He was the son of the late Louis and Aline Schexnayder Hymel and brother of Joyce Dufresne, Cecile Loupe and Carol and Clarence Hymel.

He is also survived by his aunt, Annabel Zeringue.

He was a former parish manager of St. John the Baptist Parish.Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Phillip Catholic Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.JOSEPH PAULINACynthia Ann Burl, 50, a resident of LaPlace, died May 12. Shewas the mother of Rondell Joseph.

She was also the daughter of Mary Burl Bell and the late Herbert Bell Sr.

and sister of Linda Sterling and Sandra, Herbert Jr. and Linwood Bell.She was a teacher in St. Charles Parish for many years.Services were held May 18 at First Community Antioch Baptist Church, Paulina, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.LABICHE RESERVELouis G. Labiche, 85, a native of Garyville and a resident ofReserve for 34 years, died May 14. He was the husband of Thelma Bourgeois Labiche and father of Suzanne Marroy.

He was also the son of the late Sidney and Virginia Ory Labiche and brother of Paul Labiche and the late Florence Labiche.

He is also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 15 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

LAQUE MARREROWilliam Leslie “Brother” Laque, 64, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Boutte, died May 15. He was the father of Chris Laque.He was also the son of Lorna Caro Laque Knobloch and the late William L. Laque Sr. and brother of Lorna Oubre, Carol Trabeaux and the late William L. Laque Jr. He is also survived by two grandchildren and companion, Jennie Young.

Services were held May 18 in the chapel of Westside Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Hook and Ladder Cemetery, Gretna.

RIOS LAPLACEAurora “Miss D” Rios, 75, a native of Texas and a resident of LaPlace for 50 years, died May 9. She was the wife of James Blum andmother of Smokey Brenner.

She was also the sister of Pete Rios.

She is also survived by one grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.TOLEDANO KENNERPenny Dianne Barton Toledano, 48, a native of Las Vegas, Nev.,and a resident of LaPlace for 15 years, died May 16. She was the wife of Chester J. Toledano and mother of Jon Christopher Cryer. She was also the daughter of Henry Barton and the late Bettye Bruce Barton and sister of Susan Torrens and Douglas and Michael Barton.

Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Kenner.
