Mt. Zion holds first youth pageant

GARYVILLE – Mount Zion No. 1 Baptist Church’s first King and QueenPageant was held April 11 at the church.
Ashley Arceneaux, daughter of Chanelle and Erik Arceneaux of LaPlace, was chosen queen. She was sponsored by her grandmother, Wanda Francois.Deon Keyes, son of Cheryl and John Keyes III of Garyville, was chosen king.
He was sponsored by his grandparents.
The princess is Kai’ja Taylor, daughter of Candace Sterling and Dwayne Taylor. She is also the step-daughter of Zeluen Lynn Taylor. She wassponsored by her grandparents.
The prince is Jamar A. Jasmin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Troy Jasmin of Edgard.He was sponsored by his mother and father.
First runners-up were Brionka Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. ClarenceDavis, and Diontra Rixner, son of Tanger Rixner and Raymond Frank.
Second runners-up were Jasmine Smith, daughter of Judy and Roger Smith Jr., and Kendall Ke’Mon Jones Jr., son of Tamika Bryant and Kendall Jones.He was sponsored by his grandmother, Dorothy Morgan.
Third runners-up were Lane’sha Danielle Warren, daughter of Dwight and Laquinta Warren – she was sponsored by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.Paul Jones, and Erik Arceneaux, son of Chanelle and Erik Arceneaux.
Fourth runners-up were Troylynn Jasmin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. TroyJasmin, and Jasmine Young, daughter of Sandra Young. She was sponsoredby her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Davis.Judges for the pageant were Deserax Valentine, Shannon Joseph, Marsha Sanders, Rauen Labiche, Tria Smith and Neocha Isom.
