AUGUST CHICAGO, Ill. -Clifford “Butt” August Jr., 59, a native of New Orleans,former resident of Edgard for several years and resident of Chicago for 40 years, died March 5. He was the husband of Sara August, father of Anna andAlicia August and Brian Brimmer, and step-father of Michelle Robert and Kevin Robert.

He was also the brother of Slata Hillaire, Barbara Moll, Lois Johnson and Brenda and Larry August.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Services are today at True Believers Baptist Church, Chicago, with interment at Washington Memorial Cemetery, Chicago.

KELLER MARRERO – Lennis Keller, 85, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Marrero for 52 years, died March 6. He was the husband of VeronicaFreeman Keller and father of Hildredge Gibson, Cathy Scott, Nellie Barthelomew, Madeline Bridgewater, Kathleen Pavadue, Jerome Keller and the late Merlin Keller.

He was also the son of the late Pierre and Althea Osborne Keller and brother of Irene Lumas, Corine Love, Cecile Mundy and Joseph, Elliott, Victor and the late Landry, Armond and Rene Keller.

He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 11 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church,Marrero, with interment at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Vacherie.

MIRE NORCO – Grace Alleman Mire, 90, a native of Brusly McCall and a resident of Norco for 61 years, died March 10. She was the wife of the late ClayMire.

She was also the daughter of the late Omere and Cecile Montecino Allemand and sister of Dr. Earl Alleman and the late Tracey Schwartz andPercy and Hurd Paul Alleman.

Services were held March 12 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.MORVANT MARRERO – Louis Claude Morvant, 79, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Luling for 41 years, died March 10. He was the husband of the late HelenDaigle Morvant and father of Nancy Roach, Brenda Mitchel, Janice Lancaster and David Morvant.

He was also the son of the late Whitney and Octavia Oncale Morvant, step- son of the late Lucille Morvant Francis and brother of Jerry and Troy Morvant and the late Claude Toups, Betty Landry and Wilson and Warren Morvant.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was the retired owner of Richards Department Store, Luling, and former member of the Luling Volunteer Fire Department.

Services were held March 12 in the chapel of Westside Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.SIMON RESERVE – Henry J. Simon, 84, a native of Vacherie, former resident ofReserve and resident of LaPlace for four years, died March 9. He was thehusband by first marriage of the late Evelyn Richard Simon and by second marriage of May Kugler Simon, and father of Gordon, Richard and the late Philip Simon.

He was also the son of the late Joseph and Leana Scioneaux Simon and brother of Velma Williams, Marie Rebler, Therese Brennan, Lois Jacob, Rene and Earl Simon and the late Andrew, Willie, Ellis, Antoine and Elise Simon.

He is also survived by three grandchildren.

Services were held March 11 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery.
