WCKW-1010 AM will broadcast River Parishes Sports Talk live from the Pizza Factory in Gramercy every Thursday night from 6:15-7 p.m.
The St. Charles Catholic Athletic Association is holding a monthly$1,000 raffle. Only 100 tickets will be sold each month at a cost of $20per ticket. Drawings are to be held on the 28th of each month. For ticket information call coach Don Fernandez at St. Charles Catholic at652-3029.
The New Orleans Soccer Association, in conjunction with the Louisiana Soccer Association, will host a youth module level coaching certification course for under 12 coaches today from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. atthe Pope’s Altar on the UNO campus.
The course is open to all coaches and is $25 for coaches affiliated to the state association and $35 for those non-affiliated.

The New Orleans Soccer Academy, in conjunction with the Louisiana Soccer Association, will host a “D” level coaching certification course for under 15, under 16 and under 17 coaches today and tomorrow from 8 a.m.to 6 p.m. at the N.O.S.A. Club house and fields in New Orleans.The course is open to all coaches, although some prerequisites do apply.
The cost is $75 for coaches affiliated to the state association and $85 for those non-affiliated.

The St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation willbe holding baseball and softball registration March 1-3 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Registration will be held March 1 for the Ama booster club at Ama Grain and for the Boutte booster club at the Recreation Office. Regist-rationwill be held March 2 for the following booster clubs: Luling (Recreation Office), Destrehan (Harry Hurst Middle), Des Allemands (J.B. MartinMiddle), St. Rose (Cammon Middle), Mimosa (Lakewood Elementary),Hahnville (Landry Middle) and Killona (Landry Middle). The Norco boosterclub will register March 3 at Norco Elementary.
Make-up registration will be held at the Westbank Bridge Park Saturday, March 6, from 9-11 a.m. The last day of registration is March 11 till 4 p.m.Franchise League evaluations will be held March 12-13 at the Westbank Bridge Park. Evaluations will be held for 13-14 year-olds Friday at 6 p.m.;11-12 year-olds Saturday at 2 p.m.; and for 9-10 year-olds Saturday at 4p.m.
St. Charles Catholic’s Double Diamond Club is hosting its secondannual Double Diamond Gala to benefit the baseball and softball programs Saturday, March 13, in the school gym and cafeteria.
The night begins with dinner served at 7:30 p.m. Dancing is scheduled from9 p.m. to 1 a.m. to the sounds of Summer Breeze. Door prize and cash prizedrawings will be held. Five $200 prizes will be drawn, with the grandprize award of $5000 to be picked at 11 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from members of the Double Diamond Club or Frank Monica who can be reached at 652-3809.
The Louisiana Sportsmen’s Show returns to the Louisiana Superdome Wed-nesday, March 17 through Sunday, March 21, offering the general public the largest and newest selection of sportfishing gear, boats and hunting equipment at special Show discount prices.
Activities include “Water Dog” seminars, fishing and hunting seminars, the Louisiana Sportsman Hall of Fall and the annual Big Buck contest. Showhours are 4-10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdayand 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children.
The Chrysler Junior Golf Scholarship Program will award 40 $1,000 educational scholarships to America’s most deserving junior golfers.
Anyone 12-18 who plans to attend college can apply.

Special Olympics Louisiana’s new “Share the Victory” motor vehicle recycling program allows anyone in Orleans, Jefferson, St.
Bernard, St. Tammany and St. Charles parishes to turn extra or unwantedvehicles into “something special for Special Olympics.”An individual can call the “Share the Victory” toll-free number and Special Olympics will arrange to tow away their motor vehicle for free.
The vehicle will be recycled into the funds needed to support the year- round program of sports training and athletic competition for mentally- retarded children and adults in Louisiana.
Vehicles can be in any condition to qualify as long as the owner has the title. Consumers may also be able to take advantage of a tax deduction asthe fair market price of the vehicle is considered a tax deductible donation to Special Olympics.
