One drug arrest leads to 12 more

LAPLACE – Quick action by St. John Sheriff’s narcotic agents resulted in13 arrests Friday.
Lt. Michael Tregre reported that Jonathan C. Jackson, 25, 2236 ConcordiaDrive, LaPlace, was pulled over on Belle Terre Boulevard just after noon.
Jackson, who had been under surveillance for a month, was on parole from a narcotics conviction in Jefferson Parish.
A quantity of cocaine was recovered in Jackson’s vehicle, and this allowed detectives to secure a search warrant for his residence. There, detectivesrecovered a quantity of heroin, more cocaine and a fully-loaded AK-47.
Jackson was charged with being a fugitive from another agency, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count distribution of marijuana and five counts distribution of cocaine.
Through information received from the investigation of Jackson, agents were able to effect 12 additional arrests that same evening in a LaPlace neighborhood.
Arrested were: Kelvie Laronnie Gibson, 36, 2217 Tiffany Drive, LaPlace, possession of cocaine and attempt and conspiracy to possess cocaine.
Karen Brewer, 30, 535 Melrose Drive, LaPlace, possession of cocaine, drug free zone violation and possession of a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance.
Kelley M. Silvestri, 38, 381 Hester Drive, LaPlace, possession ofcocaine, drug free zone violation, distribution of a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance, possession of a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance and issuing worthless checks of less than $100.
Jerry Lambert Jr., 26, 199 Camellia Ave., LaPlace, possession ofmarijuana and possession of cocaine.
Jason L. Mizell, 28, 115 Apple St., LaPlace, possession of marijuana. Rodney Labot, 39, 470 Maple Loop, LaPlace, possession of cocaine.
Willie Pratt, 42, 247 Belle Terre Apt. A, LaPlace, possession of cocaine. Lloyd W. Addison, 38, 110 Riverside Drive, Reserve, possession ofcocaine and attempt and conspiracy to possess cocaine.
James Caesar, 26, 616 Revere Drive, LaPlace, distribution of marijuana.
Shirley P. Addison, 37, 110 Riverside Drive, Reserve, possession ofcocaine and attempt and conspiracy to possess cocaine.
Stella Bourgeois, 17, 429 State St., LaPlace, possession of marijuana. Brandon Johnson, 18, 429 State St., LaPlace, possession of marijuana,improper display of plate and no driver’s license.
Tregre said the investigation is continuing. He described Jackson as a”mid-level distributor” of illegal narcotics.
