LAPLACE – Wanda Cortez and her husband Ron of LaPlace have their hands full these days.

This past fall their family doubled in size with the addition of twins, Bryce and Bailee, now 4 months old. The twins, who were born premature,stayed in the hospital two months before joining their siblings, Macky, 5, and Trace, 1 1/2, at home.

Wanda, 28, married her high school sweetheart, Ron Cortez, in 1991. Ronis employed at Union Carbide and enjoys golf in his spare time.

Wanda, 28, plans to return to work as a part-time dental assistant for Dr.

Lloyd Pizzalata in March. She will work two days a week and says hermother and mother-in-law will take turns caring for the three younger children on the days that she works.

A former Comet Queen at St. Charles High School, Rhonda now serves aspageant director for the annual St. Charles High School Comet QueenPageant. This past November she was able to juggle her pageant duties with trips to the hospital to visit her newborn twins.

In 1989, Wanda was selected as a maid in the Allovus Mardi Gras Ball.

Wanda and her family attend St. Joan of Arc Church in LaPlace and will be active in LARAYO next summer when their son Macky begins his first season of T-ball.

Wanda is the daughter of Gary and Paula Heltz of LaPlace.
