St. Charles Catholic Quarterback Club meetings will be held everyTuesday night in the school cafeteria from now through the end of the season.

The Riverside Academy Quarterback Club will hold meetings every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The St. Charles Catholic Athletic Association is holding a monthly$1,000 raffle. Only 100 tickets will be sold each month at a cost of $20per ticket. Drawings are to be held on the 28th of each month. The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring hunter safetyclasses that are free of charge Nov. 17-19 and 21.All classes will be held at the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office DivisionHeadquarters in LaPlace. Registration is required and you must attend eachday for certification. The Louisiana Soccer Association announces a meeting of the Latin American Soccer Coaches Association Nov. 20 from 7-10 p.m. at theHoliday Inn in Metairie.

Juan Carlos Michia, the regional U-14 coaching coordinator for U.S. Soccer,will cover topics such as the Olympic Development Pro-gram and coaching education through U.S. Soccer. All Hispanic coaches, administrators,referees, parents and players are invited.

The Louisiana Soccer Association, in conjunction with the United States Soccer Federation and the United States Olympic Committee, will conduct try-outs in the Olympic Development Pro-gram for boys and girls born in 1985 and 1986 Nov. 21 and 22 at the Carrollton Soccer AssociationFields in New Orleans.

The try-outs are open to all players. The cost is $20 per player and playersmust register by Nov. 16. The Destrehan High School Fighting Wildcat Basketball Camp will be held Nov. 23-25 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Destrehan gym.The camp, conducted by Destrehan head coach Mike McNamara, his staff and several varsity players, is for ages 7-14 years old. The cost of thecamp is $50 and includes a camp T-shirt and basketball. Each player willbe taught, observed and corrected in the fundamentals of basketball. Thecamp also includes shooting drills and games and 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 team competition. Campers will be age and ability grouped.For more information call McNamara at 764-1775 or 764-9946.

St. Charles Catholic Head Baseball Coach Frank Monica is holdingtwo baseball camps at the school over the Christmas holidays. A camp forpitchers and catchers will be held Dec. 21 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.The costs for the camp is $60.

A camp for hitters will be held Dec. 28-30 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The costis $90.

Season ticket packages for the 1998-99 Nicholls State University home basketball games are now available from the athletic ticket office.

Four different plans are available and include 13 men’s and 13 women’s home contests.

Reserved seats behind the player’s bench are $98, while Upper Chairback or Lower General Admission are $68 apiece and Upper General Admission is priced at $53. Season parking privileges are also available for $5.The men’s exhibition season begins Sunday against VASDA, while the women have a Nov. 11 preseason affair with the Houston Jaguars. As forregular season openers, the men’s squad – the 1998 Southland Conference champions – will open with Loyola of New Orleans Nov. 15, while the LadyColonels face NCAA runner-up from last season Louisiana Tech on Nov. 25.For tickets or more information call the NSU athletic ticket office at (504) 448-4791.
