Thoughts that went through my mind while waiting for the election results to come in Tuesday night.

Jesse “The Body” Ventura the new governor of Minnesota? Who is going to do the swearing in at the inauguration, WWF announcer Vince McMahon? And how about a tag team match with Louisiana’s Mike Foster with the two going against the Bush brothers? It could be quite a show with Foster riding in on his Harley. Just a thought. Maybe we can get “Governor Body” to settle the NBA lockout. Seems likethat could be the only way the two sides will ever come together on a settlement. And who wouldn’t want to see Ventura get player rep PatrickEwing in a headlock? The season has already been delayed to the first of the year and an agreement does not seem to be any closer than when the lockout began over the summer. And all because the two sides cannot agree on how tosplit a multi-billion dollar industry.

Unfortunately, it is not the owners and players who will suffer the most from the lockout. It is the stadium owners, workers and vendors that will.A recent poll showed that over 60 percent of fans do not care if the lockout is settled. If that is not a mandate to the players and owners toget back on the playing court, what will be? Want to know the difference between pro golf and pro tennis and why golf is the sport on the upswing? The pro golfers are fighting tooth and nail to get on the Ryder Cup and President Cup teams while the United States could not even get its best pro tennis players to play in the semifinals of the Davis Cup.

What is the deal? The Green Wave are undefeated (when did you ever think you would be able to use that phase) and are playing exciting football.

Shaun King is one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the country to watch and the majority of the players are homegrown. So where are thecrowds? When Saints fans said they wanted their team to be like the Dallas Cowboys, I think they meant on the field.

Finally, to Kevin Faulk, Herb Tyler, Todd McClure, Joe Wesley, Anthony McFarland and the rest of the Tiger seniors, thanks for the memories and for making Saturday nights in Tiger Stadium magical again. You will bemissed.
