Young boy hit by car dies

RESERVE – A 5-year-old boy, struck by a car on Oct. 29, died Monday atChildren’s Hospital, New Orleans, a hospital spokesman said.

Brian “B.J.” Morris Jr., son of Brian and Carmella Morris of Reserve,apparently stepped out into the path of a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by Frederick James, 19, of Reserve. The accident took place near his aunt’shome on East 24th Street.

After having suffered head, pelvis and leg injuries, the Fifth Ward Elementary student was placed on a respirator. However, the spokesmancontinued, he died at 1:30 p.m. Monday from his injuries. James was notcited in the accident.
