* NOAH Recreation is holding registration for its 1998 football season through Sept.7. Registrants must bring a copy of their birth certificates if they are not already on file.

* Nicholls State University will offer a pair of volleyball clinics, Sunday, Aug. 2.The camps will be run by NSU volleyball coach Chip Didier with a Setter Clinic running from 9 a.m. to noon and the Hitter Clinic set for 2 p.m. to 5p.m.The camp is open to girls ages 10 and up and with participants in skills ranging from beginner to advanced.

Cost of the camp is $20 per three hour clinic prior to August 2 and $25 each the day of the event.

* Southeastern Louisiana University is holding a day camp for boy’s basketball August 3-7. The camp will be held in the University Center onthe SLU campus.

* The Louisiana Depart-ment of Wildlife and Fisheries announces alligator harvest proposal as follows: Proposal number WLF Game AWMA 98.

Sale of approximately 300 alligators on certain WMA’s including Pearl River, Joyce, Manchac, Sherburne, Atchafalaya NWR, Spring Bayou, Grassy Lake and Pomme De Terre. Prospective buyers must comply with allrequirements set forth in bid proposal.

* Ascension of Our Lord Recreation will have soccer registration August 23 and 30 in the school lobby from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Registration will be held for the following age groups: under 6 years old (boys and girls), under 8 years old (boys and girls), boys under 10 years old, girls under 10 years old, boys under 11 years old, boys under 12 years old, girls under 12 years old, boys under 13 years old, boys under 14 years old and girls under 14 years old.

* The Xavier University Athletics Department will host a Summer Basketball camp Monday, August 3 until Friday, August 7 in the university gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The one week camp will be open to 100 students from ages 7-17. Camperswill receive instruction in basic basketball skills, with emphasis on defense, special situations and basketball cuts.

Head men’s basketball coach Dale Valdery, assistant men’s coach Anthony Roman and Neil McKendall, director of Intramural Sports, will be in charge of this year’s camp.

As part of the camp’s $75 fee, all students enrolled in the camp will receive a T-shirt, a certificate of participation as well as special awards for outstanding achievement during the camp.

Students can register early in the gymnasium between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Toparticipate, students must be enrolled by Monday, August 3.
