Lutcher Coach Dornier Resigns

LUTCHER – Lutcher head baseball coach Matt Dornier resigned this week, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Dornier, who will stay on at the school as a science teacher, had been coach of the Bulldogs for the past seven years after serving as an assistant at St. Charles Catholic for three years. Dornier’s teams advancedto the postseason each year, including a 4-3 lost to Pearl River in the bi- district playoffs this past season.
Lutcher athletic director Tim Detillier is accepting applications for the position.
With Dornier’s resignation and the retirement of Riverside coach Tommy Fernandez, there now has been a complete turnover of the baseball coaches in the River Parishes since the end of the 1997 season. There were sevencoaching changes last season and three this past season.
