‘Anything Goes’ cast announced

The River Region Drama Guild has announced the cast list for its summer musical “Anything Goes.”This year’s production is being directed by veteran director-actor Kris Shaw. Shaw has directed for many shows in the New Orleans area, themost recent being “The Velveteen Rabbit” for Rivertown Repertory Theatre. Shaw has won a “Big Easy Award” for his roll in “The Will RogerFollies” and has been nominated for his rolls in “Amadeus” and “I Do, I Do.”The choreographer for this romantic comedy is Susan Domangue. Domangueis no stranger to community theatre, having performed in and choreographed numerous shows in the New Orleans area, most recently, “Joey & Mary’s Irish-Italian Comedy Wedding.” Susan is excited about thetap numbers in “Anything Goes” and is thrilled to work with the River Region Drama Guild.

The musical director is Brenda Castillo, who joins the drama guild as an experienced musician. Castillo is the musical director at St. Mary’sDominican High School, where she has been involved in “The Butler Did It Singing,” “Krazy Kamp” and this year’s production of “The Wizard of Oz.”Castillo has been a percussionist for most of the theatres in the New Orleans area.

Kathy Rhodes is the assistant director. This marks Rhodes’ return to thetheatre after about a three-year hiatus. With about 20 years on stage andbackstage, she has been in numerous productions, with her favorite roles being Momma Rose in “Gypsy”, Sascha in “Gotta Sing”, and Dina Dulce in “Tony and Tina’s Wedding.” Production credits include, “Rumors,””Cemetery Club,” and “In Trousers.”The ships captain will be played by Gordon Lousteau. The part of RenoSweeney will be played by La Vina Larkey. Patrick McKinney will beplaying the part of Sir Evelyn. Moonface Martin will be played by RonOleksik. La Verne Hooker will be playing the part of Bonnie. Billy will beplayed by Brad Preddy. Hope Harcourt will be played by Lauren Landwerlin.Kathy Rhodes will play the part of Mrs. Harcourt. Kris Shaw will play Mr.Whitney, and the Bishop will be played by Ralph Lister.

Rounding out the cast is Andrew Allemand, Matthew Allemand, Melissa Bucalan, Kevin Butler, Jamie Callender, Robert Callender, Angelique Carter, Mandy Coupel, Sharyn Edres, Ryan Garrity, Troy Hamm, Kristen Higdon, Nicolette Hooker, Nichole Larkey, Kristen Mannear, Jeremy Mohr, Catherine Nagel, Brandon Robinson, Aaron O’Quinn, Ashley Payne, Debbie Payne, Adam Peyton, Jennifer Sheppard, Jessica Thomas, Catherine Treuting, Drew Treuting, Jamie Treuting, Lance Ural, Clara Vella and Shannon VanGeffen.

“Anything Goes” will be performed June 12,13,19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. andJune 14 and 21 at 2 p.m. All performances will be at the Destrehanauditorium located at Destrehan High School. Advance tickets are $8 foradults and $4 for children. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $5for children.
