KENNER – Rainbow Oldsmobile bounced back after East St. Charles Post366/195 rallied from a four-run deficit, scoring three runs in the top of the sixth for a 10-7 victory in the Bonnabel Tournament Saturday afternoon.

With the score tied at seven, Reutez Porter opened the top of the sixth by reaching on an error by second baseman Mike Catalano and Danny Ledet followed by beating out a bunt in front of the plate. After a double steal,Brandon Barrilleaux brought in Porter with a sacrifice fly to center. Asingle by Travis Baker and a double by Mario Burciaga scored Ledet with Baker coming in to score on a ground out by Brian Gonzales.

Ben McLaren and Todd Picou drew walks from Rainbow Olds reliever Chris Milton before Eric Walker came in to retire Jason Pick on a ground out to second. The game was then called due to the tournament’s time limit.East St. Charles trailed 7-3 heading into the top of the fifth before CraigNaquin led off the inning with a double off Rainbow Olds starter Brian Gonzales. Walks by Mike Bierman and Picou loaded the bases with one out.Pick followed with another walk to bring in Naquin, cutting the deficit to 7-4.

Roberto Martinez the hit a grounder to the left of first base. Walker got tothe ball but his throw to the bag was off line, allowing Martinez to reach and scoring Bierman. After Picou scored on a wild pitch, Nathan Maggioresingled to left to score Pick with the tying run. Milton then came in topitch and got out of the inning by striking out Justin St. Pierre andCatalano.

Rainbow Olds got on the scoreboard first as Barrilleaux led off the game by reaching second on a throwing error by Naquin, moving to third on Baker’s fly ball to center and scoring on a fly ball to right by Burciaga.

East St. Charles tied the score in the bottom of the second as McLarendoubled to left and Picou singled with one out. Courtesy runner JeremyLedet and Picou then pulled off a double steal with Ledet scoring on the throw to second.

Post 366/195 took the lead the following inning as St. Pierre walked andCatalano singled with two outs. Barrilleaux then bobbled Naquin’s grounderto short and threw late to second as St. Pierre came around to score.Rainbow Olds regained the lead with five runs in the fourth inning. Withone out, Curtis Simmons doubled down the third baseline, went to third on a wild pitch by East St. Charles starter Danny Krieger and scored on aground out by Walker.

Milton kept the inning alive by drawing a walk and Porter followed with a single to left. Milton then came in on an errant pick-off throw. After Ledet was hit by a pitch, Barrilleaux doubled to center field, scoring Porter and Ledet and giving Rainbow Olds a 5-2 lead. Barrilleauxwould score the final run of the inning by steal third and scoring as McLaren’s throw went into left field.

East St. Charles pulled to within three in the bottom of the inning as Picouwalked and Pick singled with one out. One out later, Nathan Maggiore andSt. Pierre walked to force in Picou to cut the Rainbow Olds lead to 6-3. East St. Charles bounced back Sunday with a 11-4 victory over LafittePost 344 to improve its record to 3-2.
