We played strong defense and got some great plays in the infieldand outfield. It was a total team effort, just how you draw it up beforethe game. When Tanya is on and we play good defense, we are a tough teamto beat.”The Lady Comets have clinched second place in District 9-2A after defeating West St. John Wednesday and will enter the bi-district playoffsthis week as the number two seed.

“Tanya exploited our weaknesses and pitched very well,” St. CharlesCatholic coach Teri Hruska said. “They outplayed us in every phase of thegame. They were the better team and we didn’t play as well as we are ableto play. They put the play and we didn’t and they deserved to win.”
