Riverside dancers competing nationally

RESERVE – The Riverside Academy Southern Sweethearts, under the direction of Darryl Clement, have been selected to compete at the 1998 American All-Star United States Dance/Drill Team Championships.

Qualifying rounds for the competition were held throughout the year at the state and regional level. The honor of competing at thisprestigious national championship is a testament to the exceptional talent and dedication of the team and comes after months of extensive practice and preparation.

The United States Dance/Drill Team Championship gives dance/drill teams from across the country an opportunity to come together for a weekend of competition and camaraderie and a chance to celebrate a year of hard work.

Preliminary rounds of the competition will be held Saturday in the Roy Acuff Theater in Nashville, Tenn. The final round of competitionwill be held Sunday on the legendary stage of the Grand Old Opry.

This year the Southern Sweethearts will compete against more than 50 teams from across the country for the honor of being selected the 1998 United States Dance/Drill Team Champions.
