Destrehan, Hahnville players named to soccer all-district teams

LAPLACE – The Hahnville and Destrehan soccer squads placed a number ofplayers on the all-district squad released this past week.The Hahnville boys placed sophomore Mark Griffen and juniors ChrisClaudet, Joe Griffen and Jarrad Larousse on the All-District 7 first team.

Joe Griffen was named the district’s most valuable defensive player.

The Lady Tigers saw freshmen Guille de Vega and Virginia LeBlanc,sophomores Christy Becnel, Colleen Lockhart and Erin Crisham and juniorsKyna Boyer and Tyna Wells named to the All-District 9 first team. Boyerwas selected as the district’s most valuable offensive player, whileLockhart was named its most valuable goalie.

Sophomores Allison Bordelon and Stacy Brignac and senior Tricia McCullywere named to the district second team, while junior Tobi Fletcher wasselected to the honorable mention squad.

For the Lady Cats, senior goalie Danielle Sentilles, freshman rightfullback Ester Garatie, senior left forward Tina Johnson, freshman stopperCynthia Rodrigues and freshman sweeper Natalie Robert were selected tothe District 9 first team. Robert was also chosen as the district’s mostvaluable defensive player.

Named to the all-district second team were junior left fullback MeganShurley and senior center midfielder Sarah Peirce. Freshman right forwardKatie Logan, freshman right halfback Emily Nassar and sophomore leftfullback Annie Johnson were selected honorable mention all-district.
