BECNEL

Albert T. Becnel passed away on Wednesday Oct. 14, 2009, at 3:50 a.m. Beloved husband of the late Isna Webre Becnel. Father of Janet B. and husband John C. Bowman III and Thomas Becnel. Grandfather of Steven Bowman and wife Joy Leopold. Great-grandfather of Harper Abigail Bowman. Son of the late Telismar and Odile Lorio Becnel. Brother of the late Irvin J., Lawrence F. and Roland A. Becnel and Isabel B. Troxler.

He was St. John the Baptist School System Superintendent from 1964 to 1985. Also, he was a major in the U.S. Army Corp Military Police in WW II from 1942 to 1946. Age 93. A native of Taft and a resident of Reserve.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services. Visitation at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, today from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve.

BROWNING

Robert Jackson Browning, age 80, husband of Jessie Sanders Browning, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 13, in LaPlace.

There was a graveside funeral service Friday, Oct. 16, at Forrest Memorial Park, Batesville, Miss. Mrs. Cheryl Homes Fontenot presided.

Robert was born in Van Zandt Country, Texas, on Nov. 10, 1928, to Horace L. and Elizabeth Reid Browning. Mr. Browning was a retired supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie Sanders Browning of LaPlace, one son, Robert J. Browning Jr. of Houma, one sister, Elizabeth Ann Browning of Longview, Texas, and two grandchildren.

There was a visitation on Thursday night, Oct. 15, at Wells Funeral Home.

The family asks that memorial be sent to the American Cancer Society.
