Each Wednesday, L’Observateur recognizes achievements and efforts of members of the community.
This week we salute:
• THE WEST ST. JOHN HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS’ BASKETBALL TEAM, which recently won a share of its first-ever district championship and last week won its first-ever girls’ basketball playoff game. While the team was knocked out of the playoffs Monday, its accomplishments this season are historic.
• MIKE TREGRE AND THE ST. JOHN PARISH RECREATION BOARD, who are leading the charge to resurrect the old Leon Godchaux High School football field for youth football games. The St. John Parish School Board has now entered into an informal partnership in the project.
