Starting this week, L’Observateur will once again begin accepting donations for our annual “Food for Families” program. With the help of a constant flow of donations from the community, the “Food for Families” program, now in its sixth year, has consistently offered a leg up to dozens of less fortunate families.
From now until Dec. 11, L’Observateur will be seeking monetary donations, which will then be exchanged for food vouchers to local supermarkets. The vouchers will go to families in the River Parishes that are nominated by members of the local community. The nomination form can be found on page 2B in the ‘Lifestyle” section of today’s paper.

To make a monetary donation please stop by our office at 116 Newspaper Drive in LaPlace or mail a check to Food for Families c/o L’Observateur, 116 Newspaper Drive, LaPlace, LA 70068. Any donation made can go a long way toward making sure everyone has enough to eat this holiday season.
