Lutcher continued to look like a team on a mission to repeat at state champion for the first time in school history on Friday night, crushing Ellender 54-0 in a District 8-4A game at Lutcher.
The win sets up what amounts to a district championship game against Vandebilt Catholic on Friday night, where the winner clinches at least a share of the 8-4A crown.

He completed 14 of his 18 pass attempts, and also ran for a score.
Jarvis Landry was his top target, hauling in four of those completions for 143 yards and two scores. Daniel Taylor rushed for 84 yards and a score on just seven carries.
Derick Matherne led the way on defense for the Bulldogs, tallying two of the team’s six sacks.
Lutcher (8-0, 3-0) did its usual dominating work offensively, gaining 465 yards of total offense.
But the Bulldogs “Dingos” defense was stellar, allowing the Patriots (0-8, 0-3) only 39 total yards in and minus-29 rushing yards in the shutout. Ellender made only five first downs on the night.
Lutcher struck quickly, scoring in the first 56 seconds of play on Taylor’s 6-yard touchdown run.
The Bulldogs went ahead 13-0 with 7:32 left in the first quarter on the longest play of the night, a 65-yard touchdown pass from Webster to Landry.
Webster connected with Trevor Englade for the Bulldogs’ third touchdown of the first quarter, a 4-yard pass that made it 20-0 with 2:50 left.
Webster would keep it himself for the next score, a 5-yard touchdown with 5:11 left in the first half.
Almost three minutes later, he connected with Landry again for a 34-yard scoring pass to make it 34-0 at halftime.
Lutcher would add three more scores in the third quarter –Webster fired touchdown passes to Jeffery Deslatte and Jamiah Sorapuru, and Londres Johnson ran for a 20-yard touchdown run.
