Six administrators in St. John the Baptist Parish successfully completed the Louisiana Educational Leaders Induction Program (LELI): Alison Cupit (LaPlace Elementary School principal), Stacey Bradford (West St. John High School assistant principal), Bonnie Dinvaut (coordinator of educational technology), Genevieve Gomez (East St. John Elementary School assistant principal), Zina Jones (Lake Pontchartrain Elementary School assistant principal), Lanette Perrin (coordinator of Instruction and professional development) and Kendria Spears (Fifth Ward Elementary School principal).
To meet the increasing demand for dynamic, highly-qualified administrators, the LELI Program is designed to build the administrative, instructional and professional knowledge and skills of newly appointed educational leaders.
The induction program focuses on the Standards for Educational Leaders in Louisiana, instructional leadership principles and school improvement and data analysis techniques. In addition, participants broaden their knowledge of walk-around management.
There are various components of the LELI Program, which include teacher assessment, eight hours of school improvement-related training, eight hours of professional development in technology, training in the use of BlackBoard for completion of the online course, team meetings with experienced mentors, school visits and the development of a professional portfolio.
