West St. John is looking for answers before the second half of district play after dropping its first three district games this season.
The Rams fell at Central Catholic 25-18, 25-9, 25-11 on Monday. Last Thursday, WSJ lost another on the road to Houma Christian, 25-13, 25-10, 25-6.

“We didn’t play as a team,” she said. “When that happens, we can’t win. When we make mistakes, we need to move on from those. This team has a problem letting go of a mistake and moving on to the next point.”
Kyla Morris had three blocks and four digs for WSJ (6-13, 0-3). Deja Feist added three blocks and a kill.
The two teams played one another in the previous week. Just as had been the case a week before, the Rams jumped out to a significant lead in the first game, going ahead by as many as 10.
But Central Catholic settled down, and the Eagles rallied for a 25-18 win.
From there, West St. John struggled to get its offense going.
“Our serves were off, and that dragged us down,” said Gauthier. “We have a bad serve, and it turns into a bad run.”
Houma Christian controlled its match with WSJ from start to finish to close things out at home in three games.
Morris had seven blocks in the match. Talar Lewis had three digs.
Gauthier credited Houma Christian’s top hitters for taking control.
“They had a couple of really good hitters, and we picked up some spikes,” said Gauthier. “But we couldn’t keep them in play consistently. We were hitting them out. We need just need to clean some things up technique wise.”
