LAPLACE – The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the suspension of one of their own deputies last week following an internal investigation into a citizen’s complaint, according to a spokesman for the department.

Pedro Luna, a crime scene investigator for the Sheriff’s Office, was suspended without pay after an internal investigation revealed he violated the Sheriff’s Office code of conduct, said Capt. Dane Clement, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office. Clement did not say how long Luna had been on suspension or how long the suspension was scheduled to last.

Clement did not reveal the specific nature of the complaint, only saying it was a violation of the code of conduct, but not a criminal violation. He said the citizen’s complaint was also not associated with any sexual misconduct on the part of Luna.

St. John Sheriff Wayne Jones said he feels this issue “is solely a personnel issue and will be handled accordingly.”

" Hey, that not fair. What up with that?
Either reduce the man's bond, give him a trail date or let him go.
    Wayne Jone's man go free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guest it is not justice for all. "

" I agree-why dont they print WHY he was suspended?? If they would tell all of us WHY he's been suspended it would be great-that way we arent left hanging and left with our minds wandering. In the article it says absolutely nothing about going to jail-MOST people that are sent to jail-belong there-obviously they did something bad enough to have been thrown in jail. Like I said "MOST" people. Yes, it does suck having someone that you know, love and care about thrown in jail-I know, Ive been there. And I also think that sometimes the system is too harsh on some as with the system is sometimes too leinient on others-but we the people have no say in that, unfortunately. Citizen & Cousin of Citizen, sorry about your loved one. Take Care. "

" Wayne Jones needs to go? Maybe you need to go and read our crime rates vs other areas. We are a lot safer in this Parish. What potential candidate are you backing next election? "

" I agree, justice for some and none for others.
My cousin has been in jail since Easter and no trail date has been set, wayne Jones's man get only a slap on the wrist.
I guess the law is color blind. The family is praying for you Leonard.
Hopefully justice will open her eyes and realize you still sitting there waiting for a trail or bail reduction.
The man made a mistake and is sorry and now need to get home to his family who desperatley needs him.
Where is justice for Leonard. "

" My son-in-law has been sitting in jail since Easter. Bail of 250,000. No trail set yet.
    He gets only a suspension.
How is that fair? Oh sorry, he is one of Wayne Jones' man. "
