With a new school year just beginning, the St. Charles Parish Library is proud to offer its patrons online access to expert tutors through the HelpNow program from Brainfuse, Inc., one of the nation’s leading providers of online tutoring services. Students in grades 3 through 12, as well as those taking introductory college courses, are able to interact one-to-one with a trained tutor for academic assistance in math, science, English, and social studies through HelpNow.

Any St. Charles Parish Library cardholder can access HelpNow by visiting the online databases section of the library’s website at www.stcharles.lib.la.us/databases.html. HelpNow provides library patrons with live, on-demand

homework help and state-aligned skills building lessons from expert tutors seven days a week from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. There is also a 24/7 Help feature and a 24-hour Writing Lab that allow patrons to submit questions and papers for review any

time of the day and then receive

a response within 24 hours. Spanish speaking tutors are available.

When using HelpNow, tutors and students communicate in real time by typing and drawing. In addition, students may use HelpNow’s secure file sharing feature to submit their papers to trained writing instructors. All HelpNow tutors possess four-year college degrees, must undergo a rigorous selection and training process and must complete a full background and security check.

To find out more about HelpNow, call the library at 985-785-8471 or stop into the library and ask any staff member.
