Following the pinning ceremony, Pfc. Christopher J. Frickey of LaPlace and Sgt. Michael T. Hinrichs of New Orleans received checks for their participation in the Guard’s recruiting assistance program.
Eleven soldiers were also
awarded with the Army Achievement Medal for their assistance
in supporting the California
Army National Guard’s Task
Force Grizzly Counter Drug/Border Patrol mission in San Diego, Calif.
The medal is awarded to any member of the Armed Forces of the United States or any member of the Armed Forces of a friendly nation, who while serving in any capacity with the Army in a non-combat area distinguished himself or herself by meritorious services or achievement of a lesser degree than required for award of the Army Commendation Medal.
The 1084th provides transportation support for federal, state and local missions throughout Louisiana.
