HAHNVILLE – Authorities in St. Charles said Monday they are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a 31-year-old woman as she walked to her car Saturday following the Alligator Festival in Luling.

Investigators say a 5-foot-8-inch black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans approached the woman as she walked toward her car parked on River Road near the festival, said St. Charles Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes. He said the incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. in the 13000 block of River Road.

Yoes said the woman told deputies the suspect brandished a knife with a 3-inch blade and demanded her money. The woman complied with the attacker and handed over about $50 in cash, Yoes said.

After grabbing the cash, the man fled the area in an unknown direction, Yoes said. According to a report on the incident, no one was injured in the attack.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone who may have information should contact the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office at 985-783-6807.
