“It gives us some solid momentum going into the Invitational,” said Belle Terre coach Amanda Buchanon. “Everyone was pretty happy with how things went. We’ve got one more to go, now.”
The River Parish Invitational is set to take place July 17-19 at Hill Heights.

The Piranhas jumped out in front from the opening event, and Ellington never recovered. Belle Terre led 79-29 after the freestyle, and increased its lead to 257-104 after the individual events were completed. Belle Terre won 15 out of the meet’s 18 relay races to round out the victory margin.
Lacey LeBouef, Sydney Doescher, Jobe Kelly, Justin Jase, Cari Jane Roussel and Morgan Torres each took two first place finishes each for Belle Terre.
Rounding out winners for the Piranhas were Brittany McMurry, Cody McMurry, Parrish Masters, Giselle Jase, and Tai Sutherland.
Colin Cedatol, Joe Toucha, Regan Duffoure, Chris Woods, Evan Nyblom, Adam Champagne, and Austin Burke all took first place finishes for Ellington.
Concluding her first regular season as Belle Terre coach, Buchanon praised her team’s camaraderie and willingness to learn.
“It’s not a group that you have to ask to do things twice,” said Buchanon. “As far as cheering and supporting one another, this has been one of the best groups I’ve had. It’s been a great first year for us here.”
