Fireworks illegal in St. Charles

Although the sale and use of fireworks are legal in neighboring parishes, Sheriff Greg Champagne issued a reminder to all St. Charles residents that possessing or discharging fireworks in the parish without a permit is illegal.

Champagne said deputies will be strictly enforcing the illegal use of fireworks under Ordinance 92-10-23, Section 14-3, which provides for fines of up to $100 and/or imprisonment of 30 days.
