Capt. Dane Clement, public information officer for the St. John Sheriff’s Office, said the pair of perpetrators, both armed with crowbars, approached the 31-year-old victim as he was leaving his job and walking to his car in the 100 block of Ormond Boulevard in LaPlace. The incident took place sometime around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Clement said the two men, who were dressed in blue jeans black hooded jackets, robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of cash. They then fled the area on foot heading east toward an apartment complex on Ormond Boulevard. Clement said no one was injured in the robbery. Nothing further was released.
