Concerned citizens contacted authorities when they noticed the unidentified victim walking home along Elm Street in LaPlace just after the robbery, which took place a few blocks away on Joe Parquet Circle said Capt. Dane Clement, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office. The victim, who suffered a severe cut to his head was transported to River Parishes Hospital for treatment of his injuries. His condition is not known at this time.
According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, the victim told deputies he was walking in the 100 block of Joe Parquet around 4:40 p.m. Sunday when four men approached him and robbed him at gunpoint. The men took an undisclosed amount of cash, then hit the victim in the head causing the laceration. Clement said the men fled the scene in an unknown direction. No description of the robbers was released.
