Polls open Saturday

Polls will be open Saturday from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. for voters in the River Parishes.

On the ballot:

ST. CHARLES PARISH:

• Voters will decide whether or not to approve the issuance of $11.5 million in bonds to develop and construct a new emergency department ($5.2 million) at St. Charles Parish Hospital and the remaining $6.3 million to refinance existing debt.

ST. JAMES PARISH:

• Voters will choose between Judge Mary Hotard Becnel and Jude Gravois for 5th Circuit Court of Appeal’s Division A seat in the 2nd District.

ST. JOHN PARISH:

• All voters will decide whether or not to approve $29 million in bonds for a variety of parish projects while those residing on the east bank in will choose between Judge Mary Hotard Becnel and Jude Gravois for 5th Circuit Court of Appeal’s Division A seat in the 2nd District.
