Hazel Poche Roussel passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2009 at Riverlands Community Care Center in Lutcher. She was 95 years old and a native of Belmont. She is survived by one son, Gary J. Roussel and wife, Audrey; two brothers: Clay and Ned Poche; three sisters: Alice Mae Dupuy, Verna Weaver and Barbara Stein; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurie “Chink” J. Roussel; parents, Robert and Ludvine L. Poche; two brothers, Whitney Poche and Earl Poche and one sister, Lola Triche.
Visitation was at St. Michael Catholic Church in Convent on Wednesday, April 1 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Internment was in the church cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Lutcher.
