HAHNVILLE – The Dow Chemical Company has announced that Steve Milligan will become the new site leader for its St. Charles Operations site in Hahnville. He will replace Nawzer Parakh, who has served in that position since 2004.

Milligan joined Dow in 1983. Since that time, he has served in many roles including environmental, health and safety as well as Dow’s hydrocarbons and ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol businesses. He currently serves as the global technology director for Dow’s EO/EG Business.

Milligan holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in chemical engineering from the University of Alabama. He is married with three children.

Nawzer Parakh will be leaving Dow at the end of March after working 40 years for Union Carbide/Dow. In that time he has served in numerous leadership positions across a large variety of businesses. “I will always carry the fondest memories of my time at St. Charles Operations. This is a wonderful place. I wish the people of  this community only the best,” Parakh said, reflecting on his time at St. Charles.

In 2007, Parakh was recognized by the Asian American Business Development Center as one of the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business. “Nawzer Parakh has provided strong and steady leadership as Site Leader at St. Charles Operations. His drive to ensure the success of Dow’s operations in Louisiana will be greatly missed. I wish him the best as he moves into retirement,” Mike Gambrell, executive vice president, manufacturing and engineering, said.
