LAPLACE – Authorities in St. John are investigating a shooting in LaPlace early Monday that injured a Reserve man.
Capt. Dane Clement, pubic information officer for the St. John Sheriff’s Office, said the 18-year-old victim, who resides in Reserve, was shot just after midnight while visiting a home in the 1700 block of Creole Street.

The victim was transported to River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace for treatment. His condition is not known at this time.
Clement said detectives are not clear on whether the shot came from a moving vehicle or from someone standing in the area. The investigation is ongoing.
