Gaston L. “Hoody” Veron passed away on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at 6:00 a.m. He was 70 years old. He was a resident and native of Lutcher. He is survived by his wife Yvonne Arceneaux Veron, two daughters Danielle Schexnayder (Todd) and Michelle “Meeky” Martin, three brothers H. E. “Pecker” Veron Jr., Neil “Mac” Veron and Daniel “Polo” Veron, two sisters Lynette V. Poche and Marilyn V. Duhon. He is also survived by six grandchildren Hollie, Sara and Heidi Schexnayder and Miranda, Maddie and James Martin Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents Hendricks E. “Jimmy” and Cecile Octavie “Tavie” Gaudet Veron. He was a third and fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid golfer. He was a veteran of the United States Army and an Assistant Director of the Emergency Preparedness Dept. of St. James Parish and also past president of LEPA.

Services were held on Monday, Feb. 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Entombment immediately followed in the church mausoleum. Donations preferred to Chanel Interparochial School, Gymnasium Campaign Fund, 2590 Hwy. 44, Paulina, LA 70763.
