Riverside (3-16, 1-1) led by 10 entering the fourth quarter, but McGehee drew within one with only seconds left. The Rebels had the ball and Coach Kristy Hebert called a time out.
“They were playing us man to man,” Hebert said. “The play we drew up, we got the ball to Lauren (Doyle) down the court. She missed, but Kristy put it back in to put us up by three.”

Milioto led the Rebels with 16 points. Megan Malik added 9, and Doyle chipped in seven.
McGehee led 20-17 at halftime, but Riverside came alive in the third quarter. The Rebels outscored McGehee 19-6 in the period, building a lead by successfully pounding the ball inside to Milioto and Malik in the post.
“We were finally able to take advantage of them inside,” said Hebert. “We made shots underneath that we’ve missed all season long. Our inside players showed up and we worked it in to them.”
McGehee flipped the script in the fourth quarter, outscoring Riverside 11-4. But it wasn’t enough to deny the Rebels a victory.
“It’s a good boost,” said Hebert. “District wins are always big. McGehee’s a team we’ve seen all year along at tournaments and we knew we’d have to play a good game to win. We were able to do that.”
