Before taking a two week break for the holidays, St. Charles finally seemed to find some offensive punch in a 7-0 win over Helen Cox.

Kristy Milioto’s putback in the waning seconds of Riverside’s clash with McGehee on Saturday gave her team a three point lead, and the Rebels held on from there for a 40-37 District 10-2A victory at Riverside.

Though Reserve Christian’s Chris Roussell didn’t play prep basketball until his junior year, he quickly established himself as a natural with the Class C champion Eagles last season. After transferring from West St. John, Roussell had to sit out a year before suiting up. He started all season on one of the state’s best teams, and finished as the Eagles’ third leading scorer.

Chapelle downs ESJ despite Thomas’ 33
Despite a game-high 33 points from ESJ’s Mechel’le Thomas, Chapelle held on Friday night for a 54-46 victory at East St. John in the final pre-district game for both teams.

Dominican shines late, pushes past Comets
After a deadlock that lasted almost 40 minutes of gametime, Dominican was finally able to shake free from St. Charles on Friday to capture a 4-1 victory at Marconi Meadows.
