Tregre

Michael “Mike” James Tregre Jr., age 27, passed away on December 2, 2008. He was a resident of Gramercy and a native of Vacherie. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Murry Tregre; his son: Michael James Tregre III; and daughters: Michaela, Katlyn and Isabella Tregre. He is also survived by his parents, Michael Tregre Sr. and Patricia Sevin and a brother, Kevin James Sevin. He was an employee of Boh Brothers Construction Co. in New Orleans.

Visitation will be at Rose Lynn Funeral Services in Lutcher on Saturday, December 6, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Buras

George “Carl” Buras on Friday, November 28, 2008. Beloved husband of Jean Buras for the past 59 years. Father of Deborah Exley and husband Butch and Tina Gassen and husband Jeffery. Grandfather of Sarah Elizabeth Exley, Jesse Exley and Luke Gassen. Son of the late George C. Buras Sr. and Eunice Yoes Buras. Brother of Dwight L. Buras, Yvonne Rabalais, Rita Buras, Mary Anne McMillen and also the late Weldon Buras. Age 80 years. A native of Baton Rouge and a graduate of Catholic High. A resident of LaPlace for the past 45 years.

He was the original owner of LaPlace Laundry and Dry Cleaners. He enjoyed the company of family and friends, was passionate about the Saints and L.S.U. and a mentor to many people in the community. He thought golf was a metaphor for life and he loved winning at all games. He will be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services. Visitation on Saturday, December 6, at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, 1809 Greenwood Drive, LaPlace, La., from 10:00am to 11:00am. Followed by Religious Services at the church at 11:00am. Burial in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery LaPlace, La.

Burch

Vivian Gerard Burch, on Monday, November 24, 2008, 99 years old. Devoted and beloved wife of the late George E. Burch Jr., MD. Born in New Orleans, daughter of Bertha Karcher and Charles Gerard. Survived by her sister, Lois Beyer; and her children: Vivian Martin of Phoenix, Md.; Janet Burch of Chicago, Ill.; George Burch of Dallas, Texas; and Bryan Burch of Destrehan. Also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private. Donations can be made to Tulane University Medical Library.

Dennis

Sandra B. Dennis on Monday, December 1, 2008, at LA Specialty Hospital in Marrero. Daughter of the late Doretha Turley and James Brown. Wife of Leroy Dennis Sr. Mother of Kerwin Dennis, Danielle Jarvis and Leroy Dennis Jr. Sister of Robert Brown, Richard Brown, Lionel Brown, David Brown, Kenneth Brown, Carolyn Smith and Darlene Brown. Also survived by three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 56 years. A native of Norco and a resident of LaPlace.

Services were held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Reserve Congregation in LaPlace on Friday, December 5.

Raymond

Edd Christopher Raymond on Monday, December 1, 2008. Beloved adopted son of Anthony and Lillian Mitchell-Raymond. Son of the late Shondreal Johnson. Brother of Lance, Cidney and Brandon Johnson and the late Marcus Trey Johnson. Grandson of Lillian Frelix. Nephew of Evelyn, Calvin and Jules Frelix. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Age 24 years. A native and resident of Hahnville.

Visitation and services were held at True Vine Baptist Church in Hahnville on Friday, December 5. Interment at St James United Methodist Cemetery in Hahnville.
