Maj. Mike Tregre, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office, said the 45-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was making a cash withdrawal from an ATM at the Louisiana Federal Credit Union in the 300 block of Belle Terre Boulevard in LaPlace when a black male with a ski mask over his face approached and demanded the money.
Tregre said the victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the armed assailant. The robber then fled the area in a white vehicle, possibly a Pontiac Trans Am. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Belle Terre toward Interstate 10.
