Area student named Homecoming Queen at Nicolls State University

THIBODAUX – The 2008 Homecoming Queen, King and Court of Nicholls State University were presented at the Homecoming football game against the University of Central Arkansas recently.

Marquita Hill, a senior from Boutte majoring in child and family social services, was crowned as Homecoming Queen by Dr. Stephen Hulbert, president of Nicholls. Hill is the daughter of Dean and Marschell Hill. Crowned as the Homecoming King was Ugochukwu Ezema, a senior biology pre-med major from Kingston, Jamaica. Ezema is the son of Dennis and Grace Ezema.

Honoring Hill and Ezema were Brett Terrebonne, president of the Nicholls Alumni Federation; Debbie Raziano, director of alumni affairs and chair of the Homecoming committee at Nicholls and Dr. Barry Landry, 2008 Homecoming parade grand marshal and recipient of the 2008 James Lynn Powell outstanding alumnus award.

Hill was nominated by Residence Life, of which she is head resident. She is also the treasurer for the Resident Hall Association, and a student Supreme Court justice for the Student Government Association.
