Reserve Christian’s winning streak came to a halt this past week, as the Eagles fell in consecutive matches at West St. John (16-25, 14-25, 11-25), to Hannan (18-25, 25-27, 25-22, 19-25) and at Riverside (12-25, 7-25, 4-25). (See Riverside and West St. John stories on 11A and 12A)
The loss to Hannan was of particular importance, as it was the only district match of the three – the Eagles had won three consecutive matches entering Saturday’s contest at West St. John, all of them in district play.

Tiffani Serven had three aces, three assists and three digs in the loss to the Hawks. Laci Felder had 11 kills and four aces. Daysha Blount had six digs, and Courtney Randle had four aces, five kills, and five blocks.
A win would have seen Reserve (3-8, 3-3) move to 4-2 in District 6-V through a round of district play, setting the Eagles up nicely for the second half.
But McGee said that while the loss was a tough one, her team is hardly dwelling on it.
“These girls have a great spirit about them. We made some mistakes. Everybody makes them sometimes. They gave me 100-percent, and we walked out with our heads held high.”
Felder supported her coach’s assessment.
“Somebody has to win, and somebody has to lose,” said Felder, who leads RCS is kills this season. “But I still think this is our year.”
On Tuesday, Reserve hosts the defending Division V champion and district foe Northlake Christian Wolverines at 4:30 p.m.
