Chaisson is the president of the Louisiana Senate and represents the 19th District. Chaisson will serve as an ex-officio member, as required by statute.
The Louisiana Recovery Authority Board works to secure funding and other resources needed for recovery, establish principles and policies for redevelopment, lead long-term community and regional planning efforts, ensure transparency and accountability in the investment of recovery funds, and communicate progress, status and needs of the recovery to officials, community advocates and the public.

New Appointments to the Louisiana Recovery Authority Board:
Andy Guinn, of Lake Charles, is the president of Port Aggregates Inc. and is a member of the Calcasieu River Waterway Harbor Safety Committee.
Ray Lasseigne, of Bossier City, is the president and co-owner of TMR Exploration, Inc., Sandia Drilling, LLC and Langston Drilling, LLP. Lasseigne is also serving as the president of the Bossier Levee Board of Commissioners.
Reappointments to the Louisiana Recovery Authority Board:
Sharon Weston-Broome, of Baton Rouge, is the president pro-tempore of the Louisiana Senate and represents the 15th District.Â
Joel Chaisson II, of Destrehan, is the president of the Louisiana Senate and represents the 19th District.Â
Rene Cross, of Belle Chase, is the owner of H&B Construction where he has worked closely with the U.S. Corp of Engineers and the Department of Natural Resources to preserve and protect Louisiana’s coastline. Cross is also the former general superintendent in charge of the construction of over 225 miles of levees.
Tom Henning, of Lake Charles, is currently the executive vice-president and general counsel for Cameron Communications LLC, a telecommunication company based in Southwest Louisiana.
Walter Leger, of Arabi, is an attorney and is the former chair of the board of the New Orleans Regional Chamber of Commerce. Leger is also the former chair of the St. Bernard Chamber Council.
Chester Morrison, of Houma, is the founder, owner and chief executive officer of Chet Morrison Construction Company. Â
Karen Carter-Peterson, of New Orleans, is the speaker pro-tempore of the House of Representatives and represents the 93rd district.Â
Sean Reilly, of Baton Rouge, is the chief operations officer and president of the outdoor division of Lamar Advertising Company.
John E. Smith, of Pearl River, is the president of the Northshore Banking Division of Whitney National Bank and is also the former chair of the Slidell Chamber of Commerce.
Jim Tucker, of Algiers, is the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Â
David Voelker, of Metairie, is a co-owner and manager of Voelker Investments and is the founder and chair of the board for the Legacy Donor Foundation.Â
