Creecy

Vernon E. Creecy on Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson, La. Son of Dorothy Owens Creecy and the late Herbert Creecy Sr. Beloved husband of Rose Della Creecy. Father of Carla C. Prout (Warren), Randy M. Creecy (Peggy), Joy C. Lowe, Natasha C. Muhammad (Dwyer) and the late Troy E. Creecy. Brother of Herbert Creecy Jr., Brenda C. Henderson, Alan K. Creecy (Gail T.), Gail C. Vinnett, Dwight O. Creecy (Cynthia), Mark A. Creecy (Gail W.), Elyria Creecy, Jennefer C. Smith, Karen, Gregory and Claudia Creecy. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 67 years. A native of Montz and a resident of Reserve.

Visitation and services were held at Providence Baptist Church in Montz on Thursday, October 16. Interment at St. John Memorial Garden Cemetery in LaPlace.

Jackson

Lawrence “Cheyenne” Jackson, of Gramercy on Monday, October 13, 2008, at his residence departed this earthly life. Husband of Earlene Schexnayder Jackson. and the late Hilda Banks Jackson by first marriage. Father of Ti Angela Al Amin (Samir), Marvin Jackson (Tracey) of Convent and the late Dalton Jackson. Stepfather of Camille Zenon Jr. (Illegra) of Vacherie, Susan Dumas (Jonathan) of Jackson, Mo., and Rosalind Auzenne (Christopher) of Baton Rouge. Brother of Marion Jackson of Convent, Brenda Chube (Frank) of Maryland, Milton, Claudell, Don and Leroy Jackson of Convent, Clifford Jackson (Delphine) of Virginia, Nolan Jackson (Sylvia) Sacramento, Calif., and Andrew Jackson (Stephanie) Donaldsonville. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by parents, Victoria and James Jackson. Age 69 years.

Visitation and services were held on Friday, October 17 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Convent. Entombment in Church Mausoleum.

Oubre

Linden “Bubby” “L.J.” Oubre Jr. entered eternal life on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. Beloved husband of Geraldine Trosclair Oubre. Father of Donna Weber, Lynn Caronna and husband Nick, Ann Scallan and husband Mike, Linden Oubre III and wife Donna and Julie Snyder and husband Johnny. Also survived by 11 grandchildren. Son of the late Linden Sr. and Josephine Oubre. Son-in-law of Rose Trosclair and the late Elvest Trosclair. Also preceded in death by one grandchild. Brother of Cheryl Triche and Mary Ann Becnel. Age 68. A native and resident of Reserve.

Visitation and services were held at St. Peter Catholic Church on Friday, October 17. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery.

Weber

Bernice “Bonnie” Levet Weber, age 87, surrounded by family, passed away on Friday October 10, 2008, at 3:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dewey (Airline, Pal) Weber Jr. Weber was born in Reserve and lived in LaPlace. Mother and mother-in-law of Wayne and Claudia Weber, Paulette and Dean Hall and the late Danny Weber. Daughter of the late John and Olive Levet. Sister of the late Lemonce Levet, Amy Jacob, Thelma Stout and Percy Levet. Survived by a brother Ernest Levet and a sister Gloria Vicknair. Also survived by three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in LaPlace on Tuesday, October 14. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

Wiggins

Patsy Ann Wiggins passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Loving wife of 54 years to Henry E. Wiggins Sr. Beloved mother of Patsy Wiggins, Peggy W. Smira (George), Henry E. Wiggins Jr. (Brenda) and Harry A. Wiggins (Kimberly). Grandmother of Brad, Gabe, Kelly, Josh, Meghan, Henry III, Hali, Sara, Harry Jr., and Philip. Sister of six brothers and six sisters. Age 71 years. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Destrehan for the past 10 years.

Visitation and services were held on Friday, October 17, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
